smithville, TX - addition
Smithville, TX is an adorable small town on the Colorado River just east of Bastrop and Austin. The clients have a beautiful, Victorian Style Home that is over 100 years old. A previous owner, had added on to it in an unfortunate manner that left the home looking slightly “Frankenstein-ed.” The owner’s goal was to add additional living space and repair the roofline to honor the original design aesthetic.

It all begins with an idea. We had access to a historic window that matched the original house. We decided to display that window on the addition in a way that would exactly match the existing. It seems so simple, but wait until you see the previous addition that did not match.
the mistaken era & The Problem to Solve
The client said, “We need fix the roof.”
I said, “I can recommend a good roofer for you.”
He said, “No, it’s much more complicated than that, you’ll have to come see it.”
That is where the problem solving began…
